Class Routine — View, Create & Manage
Every Madrasah Class (program) has a daily schedule — in Ad-Din this is the Class Routine. Each routine entry is one block of time on one day for a class section, and is either a Subject period (with a subject and teacher) or a Break (Lunch, Salat, or Short Break). Routines are organized by Academic Term, so different parts of the year (Fall, Ramadan, Summer…) can each have their own schedule.
Routines are entered once by an Admin and appear automatically for everyone — on the web portal and the Ad-Din mobile app.

I am a… | What I can do | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
🛠️ Madrasah Admin | Create, edit, delete, copy, and export routines | Admins — create & manage routines |
🧑🏫 Teacher | View my own teaching schedule and any class or teacher timetable | Teachers — view your schedule |
🎓 Student | View my class schedule | Students — view your class schedule |
👪 Parent | View my child's class schedule | Parents — view your child's schedule |
🛠️ Admins — create & manage routines
Before you begin — you need Madrasah Admin rights, and the following already set up: Classes & Class Sections, Subjects (assigned to classes), Teacher accounts, and at least one enabled Academic Term (Routine List toolbar → Manage Terms). Only Admins can add, edit, or delete routines.
Open Madressah → Class Routine in the web portal. The module has six tabs:
Tab | Use it to |
|---|---|
Routine List | Search, add, edit, delete, and export individual entries |
Schedule Builder | Build a complete schedule for many classes in one pass |
Class | View any section's weekly timetable |
Teacher | View any teacher's weekly timetable |
My Routine | View your own timetable |
Copy to Terms | Copy a term's routines into another term |
Starting a new term? Use the Schedule Builder to create the whole timetable in minutes, then use the Routine List for one-off corrections.
Notifications — Adding or editing with Send communication on pushes a "class routine changed" notification to the affected section. Leave it off during bulk edits to avoid noise.
📌 Made a mistake? If a schedule came out wrong — wrong term, wrong period times, wrong sections — don't patch entries one by one. The cleanest fix is to delete all the affected routine entries and rebuild from scratch: in the Routine List, filter to the class, section, and term, select all rows, Delete, then run the Schedule Builder again. Consider Export first as a backup, and keep Send communication off until the rebuilt schedule is final.
🧑🏫 Teachers — view your schedule
Open Madressah → Class Routine in the Teacher portal (or the mobile app). You'll see three tabs:
My Routine — your own weekly teaching schedule, no setup needed. Check it at the start of each term and after any change notification.
Class — pick a Class, Section, and Term to see that section's full weekly timetable.
Teacher — look up any teacher's timetable — handy for coordinating cover or finding a colleague.
If something looks wrong (time, subject, or teacher in the wrong slot), contact your Madrasah Admin — routines can only be changed by Admins.
🎓 Students — view your class schedule
Open Madressah → Class Routine in the Student portal (or the mobile app):
My Routine — your own weekly schedule: subjects, teachers, breaks, and times for each day.
Class — view your class section's full timetable for the selected term.
Teacher — see when a particular teacher is scheduled.
You'll receive a notification when your class routine changes. Holidays your Madrasah has recorded are reflected in the views.
👪 Parents — view your child's schedule
Open Madressah → Class Routine in the Parent portal (or the mobile app):
My Routine — your children's weekly schedules: what they study, with which teacher, and when breaks fall.
Class — the full timetable of your child's class section for the term.
Teacher — see a teacher's schedule for the term.
You'll be notified when the routine changes. New term coming up? Schedules can differ by term — pick the current term when viewing.
⚠️ Warnings, Do's & Don'ts
Key warnings
Deleting a routine entry is permanent — there is no undo. Double-check your row selection before confirming, especially with multi-row delete.
The system does not block scheduling conflicts. It will not warn you if a teacher is double-booked or if two entries overlap in time. Review the Teacher tab after scheduling to catch double-bookings, and the Class tab to catch overlaps.
Copy to Terms adds, it doesn't replace. Copying into a term that already has routines can create duplicates.
Going Back from Schedule Builder Step 3 (Assign Subjects) resets your assignments for that run. Finish assigning before navigating back.
Notifications go to real families. Every save with Send communication on pushes a notification to the section's students and parents.
DO | DON'T |
|---|---|
Set up Classes, Sections, Subjects, Teachers, and an enabled Term before building routines | Don't start the Schedule Builder before subjects are assigned to classes — the subject lists will be empty |
Use the Schedule Builder for a new term and the Routine List for corrections | Don't hand-enter a whole term's schedule entry-by-entry — the wizard is much faster |
Review the Teacher tab after scheduling to spot double-bookings | Don't assume the system will stop overlapping periods or teacher conflicts — it won't |
Keep Send communication off during bulk edits, then announce once at the end | Don't leave it on for every entry of a bulk save — families get a flood of notifications |
Use Copy to Terms when the new term's schedule barely changes, then adjust | Don't copy into a term that already has routines without checking for duplicates after |
Use Export to back up or share the schedule before big changes | Don't delete large batches without exporting first — deletion is permanent |
Keep routines current — parents, students, and prospective families rely on them | Don't leave outdated term schedules visible as the active term |
Questions?
If a routine looks incorrect or is missing, contact your Madrasah Admin. Admins: make sure Classes, Sections, Subjects, and Terms are set up first — the routine screens depend on them.
